“Oil Line Leakage ”
- What is the issue with the affected vehicles?
The screws on the connection of the heat exchanger oil lines may not have been properly torqued during the assembly process. Confirmation of the correct mounting of the assembly cannot be ensured.
- What is the cause of this condition?
Due to a production process deviation, the data documenting the tightening of the mounting of the heat exchanger oil lines was found not be consistent. There is no certain confirmation available whether the screws on the connection of the heat exchanger oil lines been properly torqued during the assembly process.
- What effect does the condition have?
Should the mounting assembly not meet the torque specification, the oil lines could detach, and leak oil, which could potentially contact hot components increasing the risk of a fire.
- How can the condition be identified?
The customer will not receive an advance warning due to the nature of the failure mechanism.
- Which vehicles are affected?
- Which VIN numbers are affected?
Only VINS are affected worldwide; manufactured from March to May 2021.
- What exactly needs to be updated on the car?

In September 2021 Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. launched investigations based on one field report of a fire issue due to an oil leakage from one connection of the heat exchanger oil lines of the Aventador SVJ. An internal investigation was immediately launched to determine the failure aspects and the root cause.
In October 2021, results from the investigation revealed that, for the specific car, due to a production deviation there was no confirmation if the torque value at the screws on the connection of the heat exchanger oil lines met production specification.
In November 2021 further analysis on all production torque recorded values for the affected connection of the Aventador SVJ was performed.
A total number of additional 4 vehicles with a comparable production deviation was found.
On November 18, 2021 the matter was presented at the Product Safety Committee which determined that a potential safety consequence cannot be ruled out and decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall.
According to our sales record one of these vehicles reached the US market and is the object of this campaign.
