Chronology :
On February 15, 2024 a report following quality controls indicated that some vehicles were missing the correct functionality of the high beam headlamps.
An investigation was immediately launched which confirmed that the vehicles had undergone an internal rework after assembly release.
Further analysis confirmed that a missing configuration step during rework was the cause for the missing functionality.
Countermeasures were immediately implemented to ensure the correct configuration of vehicles in factory premises.
Identification of potentially affected vehicles initiated and a compliance assessment was requested.
On March 14, 2024 the results of investigation and assessments were presented in Lamborghini’s Product Safety Committee.
The pre-delivery inspections carried out by the dealers are highly likely to intercept and solve the issue before owners receive their cars, however, a possibility that some vehicles are delivered with the issue still remains.
Out of abundance of caution the Product Safety Committee determined that a non-compliance with FMVSS108 which relates to vehicle safety cannot be ruled out and decided to conduct a voluntary recall.
Lamborghini has not received any complaint or reports of a crash or injury due to this topic.
