Solution for the field: Vehicles inspection for appropriate bonding of the glass panels and, if necessary, replacement. Test for glass number 1 IMPORTANT This procedure must be performed with the hood properly mounted in the car; do not per-form this operation with the hood removed or improperly installed. 1. Carefully clean the first glass (use isopropanol) to prepare the surface. The surface must be free of dirt and grease. 2. Position the suction cup and tighten the lever. Check for correct positioning and tightness. IMPORTANT The suction cup must be positioned with the center 7 cm (2,75 In) from the rear edge of glass number 1. This rule applies to all bonnet windows. Example of suction cup positioning for glass 1 3. Turn on and set the dynamometer to Newton. Connect the dynamometer to the suction cup and the rod to the dynamometer top (as shown in the picture). 4. IMPORTANT This operation requires 2 operators. Apply a vertical uniform force on both sides of the rod until a force of 190 N is displayed on dy-namometer. Wait a few seconds and stop the application of the force. INTERNAL Recall Campaign: Rear Bonnet Glass Panel on Lamborghini Countach MY 2022 S. Agata Bolognese, Italy, January 11th, 2023 Dear valued Lamborghini Sales and Service Manager, In the course of continuous product monitoring and internal tests, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has determined that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2022 Countach vehicles. Incorrect bonding of the rear bonnet glass panels, caused by an error in supplier’s assembly phase, may lead to adhesion issue that could result in a detachment. The rear bonnet glass panels could fully detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the safetyrisk of a crash for following traffic. For the reason listed above, in a precautionary manner, Automobili Lamborghini decided to launch a worldwide recall campaign to rework the involved cars. The repair instructions are now available on the DMS section “Service and Recall Campaigns” as well as on LIASS. Group Address : Via Del Tirassegno, 55 Modena 41122 Country : NR Chronology : Lamborghini received on October 10th 2022 one field report from Qatar market concerning a possible issue with one of the four glass panels on the rear bonnet of the model Countach MY22 through its Authorized Dealer Network. No other problem was reported from any other market. Lamborghini started a thorough investigation involving the supplier of rear bonnet in an effort to determine a root cause. On October 25th 2022, Lamborghini after internal analysis and testing found that the defect was caused by an error in supplier’s assembly phase concerning the bonding of the glass panel. Lamborghini determined that it is not possible to exclude that other panels could fully detach from the rear bonnet, thereby potentially creating a road hazard. The outcome of the investigation was presented to the Lamborghini Product Safety Committee on November 10th 2022 which decided unanimously to launch a proactive recall campaign worldwide. Lamborghini has not received any reports of a crash or injury due to this topic. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Affected vehicles will be inspected for appropriate bonding of the glass panels and, if necessary, they will be replaced.
