Description of the Defect : Some rivet studs that fix the hood latch strikers may present insufficient deformation. If low deformed rivet studs are assembled on the same latch striker, during high speeds (above 94 miles per hour), small gaps between the hood and front bumper may start to develop and allow for air entry. These gaps can potentially increase with the high speeds, and over time, the stress can cause the latch system to fail and separate the hood latch striker from the hood.

Description of the Safety Risk : A separated hood latch striker may allow the hood to open abruptly,
obstructing the driver’s view and increasing the risk of a crash. Also, it could fully detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the safety-risk of a crash for following traffic.
Description of the Cause : Inconsistency in the supplier manufacturing process. Identification of Any Warning

In August 2023 Lamborghini received from Europe two non-safety related warranty claims concerning misalignment between the carbon hood and the fender, Lamborghini launched an investigation with the supplier for hood vibration/noises and/or gaps and loose hood. Even though no additional cases were found, the supplier decided, in agreement with Lamborghini, to implement 100% check of the forming phase of the rivet studs, and additionally, the introduction of a structural glue as robustness measure was put in action.
In February 2024 Lamborghini received a third warranty claim, from Indonesia, concerning a complete detachment of the carbon hood during high speed on an early production vehicle.
In February 2024 Lamborghini initiated another investigation. Laboratorial analysis on the failed parts from the field demonstrated insufficient deformation on the rivet studs. Further bench and dynamic testing were performed to determine failure mechanism and conditions.
In April 2024, reappear testing confirmed that a combination of rivet studs with insufficient deformation assembled in the same hood striker, during high speed driving (above 94 miles per hours) may create gaps between the hood and grill and start to allow for air entry that can result in separation of the hood.
In April 2024 review of the previous production quality improvement efforts (check of forming phase and structural glue introduction) were judged as enough to prevent separation of the hood latch striker due to stress at high speeds.
Vehicles built prior to the implementation of both these mass production quality improvement efforts may not have enough toughness to prevent hood latch striker separation.
On May 09, 2024 Lamborghini Product Safety Committee determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety existed and decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall.
Lamborghini is not aware of crashes or injuries related to this issue.
Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. will notify all owners of affected vehicles
and will instruct them to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Lamborghini dealer. Dealers will inspect the parts and if necessary repair the hood and/or install a striker support plate free of charge. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for reimbursement.
Remedied vehicles will have rivet studs according to product specification and/or a bolted support plate installed in the latch striker.
Since early February 2024, Lamborghini received and started to use the parts with additional robustness measures from the supplier. Recall Schedule :
