If a door cannot be opened with the interior handle in the case of an emergency, it can increase the risk of injury for the driver or passenger.

Summary
Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini) is recalling certain 2020 Aventador SVJ Coupe and Aventador SVJ Roadster vehicles. The interior door handle mechanism may fail, resulting in the vehicle’s door being unable to be opened by using the inside door handle.
Remedy
Lamborghini will notify owners, and dealers will replace the interior door handle, free of charge. The recall began April 29, 2020. Owners may contact Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276. Lamborghini’s number for this recall is L73X-R.02.20.

Dear Lamborghini Owner, Lessee,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain Model Year 2020 Aventador SVJ Coupè and Roadster vehicles. Our records indicate that you are the owner of a vehicle in this recall.
What is the issue?
The affected vehicles might not have properly assembled internal door handle mechanisms. Over time the internal door handle may fail and the door cannot be unlocked from the inside, posing an entrapment risk.
If a door cannot be opened with the interior handle in the case of an emergency, it can increase the risk of injury for the driver or passenger. The outside handles operation is guaranteed by a different component and its functionality is not affected. Therefore, it is still possible to open the doors normally from the outside.
For all the reasons set forth above, it is therefore necessary to repair these vehicles. If you are not the only driver of this vehicle, please advise all other drivers and passengers of this important information.

Internal door handle recall – replacement
Lamborghini Aventador S and SVJ MY20

Dear Service Manager,
In the course of continuous product monitoring and quality checks, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has determined that, during the assembly process, the bowden cable pin inside the internal door handles may have not been correctly engaged on some vehicles produced between December 2019 and January 2020.
Over time the internal door handle mechanism may fail and the door may not be unlocked from the inside, posing an entrapment risk. This failure could lead to the inability to operate the handles from inside the vehicle with a safety risk in case of emergency. The outside handles operation is guaranteed by a different component and its functionality is not affected.
For safety reasons, these internal door handles must therefore be replaced.
The instructions for upgrading the vehicles will be available on the Lamborghini HUB at the page “Service and Recall Campaigns” from May 1st.
In order to support you in answering at the best to your customers, we are attaching the FAQ (Frequent Asked Question) you must conform to.
Since these activities are extremely important, we are confident you will make every effort to ensure that the vehicles are recalled and upgraded in the shortest time possible.
